about

Cado Young is Jake Crenshaw and Brian Gottshall, friends from opposite ends of the United States that met in Australia, and found that they have similar music interests. Both are interested in music that is genuine. Music that people can connect with in an authentic manner. Their influences range from As Cities Burn, Thrice and Underoath, to Sigur Ros, From Indian Lakes, and City and Colour.

These songs were written over a 3 to 4 year period by Brian Gottshall and Jake Crenshaw. The EP itself covers a lot of ground emotionally and spiritually, dealing with themes of struggle, adversity, and wanting to create a culture of sober mindedness and realness. It speaks very bluntly about people putting on masks and trying to be people they are not. Many of the lyrics are written from a third person point of view while at other times being auto-biographical. If you like any of the bands mentioned above, then you should hopefully get into our music. We are very excited to share it with you!

Track Name: Origin:
Rewind
Relive
Start Again
It won't End
Track Name: Wander
Nothing lasts forever
And when it's gone, it's gone
But I have seen the mountain top
Yes I have seen the sun

And they say (There!)
Is more to (This!)
Believe.. Believe
And they say
There is more but I don't know
I don't know which way it's gone!

They've become dry and cracked
Collecting dust as they sit
Composed of definitions
That no longer fit
When the fire burns out
How do you stay warm?
I long for the sun's return

And they say (There!)
Is more to (This!)
Believe.. Believe
And they say
There is more but I don't know
I don't know which way it's gone!

Wander!

They will wander off
They will wander through the desert off the mountain top
Track Name: The Path
The path I've come from is
Covered with debris
It's hard to see where
I've been and which way
It was leading me

Teach me how to weep
With those who weep
And rejoice with
Those who sing
So I can hear your voice

Cuz I've been trying to
Connect these chains you've
Broken and cling..
Because time has no
Control on your call
And one word beckons to
Release it all

Teach me how to weep
With those who weep
And rejoice with
Those who sing
So I can hear your voice..

Calling me once again!

Am I worth more than this body proclaims?
All it speaks, and all I hear is shame
And the way I've had it built
All it shows, and all I see is guilt.

Am I?

Teach me how to weep
With those who weep
And rejoice with
Those who sing
Cause.. I wanna hear your voice again!

Call my name!
Once again!
Beckon me!
To my end!
Track Name: Home
Take all the meaning out
And replace it with vanity
This heart beats for no one but me
Look at what you've done to me
This mirror no longer points and laughs
Rather it feeds the pain
And hides the shame away

Oh, your light burns deeply in the stars above
I hear you call my name like an old friend
And as I look at you..
You pleaded, won't you come my bride?
You said this house was open if you ever decide
To make it home

Darkness sets the stage for the climax
As I give and give and it takes.. it takes away
This house is ablaze no room for upkeep
As I'm lost and alone, tired and afraid
Lord I'm calling you
Just pick up the phone

Oh, your light burns deeply in the stars above
I hear you call my name like an old friend
And as I look at you..
You pleaded, won't you come my bride?
You said this house was open if you ever decide
To make it home
